Job Description
This Project Manager will be leading the delivery and implementation of a new IAM platform implementation (Okta) within centralized IT for UC Berkeley. This is a key initiative tied to broader security and access modernization within the University.
While reporting to the TPG Executive Director, the contract Project Manager shall provide services as an expert to deliver Information Security and other project outcomes according to industry accepted methodologies and practices. They are expected to perform the necessary business analysis work to gather, document and review business requirements for projects.
The following are key expectations of the position providing this service:
• Independently manage projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact, budget and team size
• Demonstrate the ability to successfully work with all the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds present in the Berkeley community
• Track projects using TPG’s standard method for tracking projects
• Keep executive director and sponsors abreast of project status, obstacles, and potential risks
• Use advanced technical project management concepts and skills to lead projects to successful conclusions
• Regularly report on project status, and update stakeholders
• Interact with senior internal and external personnel to communicate about the project goals, plans, requirements, and status.
• Develop and document detailed project plans including charters, schedules, budgets, risk plans, and status reports using excellent written communication skills.
• Organize and manage interdepartmental collaboration to ensure the completion of projects on schedule and within budget constraints.
• Monitor the project from initiation through delivery, including schedules, budgets, project staffing, external vendors and risk plans.
• Create and manage communication plans to share project information with the project team members, key stakeholders, and customers.
• Balance the competing business needs of diverse campus stakeholders to achieve the defined project goals

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of supporting IT projects from a leading project manager role
- Proven experience leading end-to-end IAM implementations
- Strong Okta experience (2+ years)
- Strong Intune & Intra experience (2+ years)
- Active PMP Certification
- Exceptional communication and soft skills
