Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer (also known as a Training Developer) to support digital transformation initiatives at our Oil & Gas client. The ideal candidate has strong curriculum development capabilities, proven attention to detail, and experience delivering training in an Agile environment. This role involves developing high quality, SCORM compliant learning content for enterprise platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Workday LMS.

- Support digital transformation training initiatives for an Oil & Gas client, focused on enterprise platforms including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Workday Learning.
- Design and build end-user training for Dynamics 365, including Field Service, Maintenance, Planning & Scheduling, Reliability, and related process changes across refining and midstream operations.
- Create SCORM-compliant eLearning modules using Articulate 360/Storyline, including screen recordings, interactive simulations, click-through activities, assessments, and step-by-step practice exercises.
- Develop Quick Reference Guides, job aids, microlearning content, facilitator guides, participant guides, and LMS-ready training materials for field technicians, planners, and other end users.
- Translate direction from the Training Lead and SMEs into curriculum, storyboards, and production-ready training assets.
- Upload, test, tag, version, and maintain learning content in Workday Learning or a comparable LMS.
- Partner with Agile project teams, change management, process teams, and technical SMEs to ensure training aligns with SOPs, role profiles, system changes, and field safety considerations.
- Manage a content backlog, incorporate feedback quickly, and meet delivery deadlines tied to project waves and releases.

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of Instructional Design or Training Development experience, preferably supporting large enterprise software or digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong hands-on experience with Articulate Storyline 360, including screen capture, branching, assessments, accessibility, and interactive simulations.
- Experience developing SCORM-compliant eLearning content and publishing training materials to an LMS.
- Experience with Workday Learning or a comparable LMS, including uploading content, managing assignments, versioning, metadata tagging, and reporting.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Strong curriculum writing, storyboard development, and visual design skills.
- Experience creating role-based training for ERP, field operations, or enterprise platforms, ideally for frontline or operational users.
- Experience working in an Agile or fast-paced project environment with the ability to take direction from SMEs/training leads, ask clarifying questions, and iterate quickly on feedback.
- High attention to detail, strong organization, and ability to deliver high-quality training assets on tight timelines.
- Ability to provide 2-3 samples of previously developed training materials.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service, Asset Management, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Planning & Scheduling, or Reliability experience.
- Oil & Gas experience, particularly in refining, midstream, field operations, or process-heavy environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise transformation programs through a consulting firm or Big 4 environment.
- Instructional Design certification.
- Experience with additional tools such as Camtasia, Captivate, Snagit, Clipchamp, Vyond, After Effects, or basic HTML/CSS for LMS formatting.
- Experience using SCORM/xAPI analytics to track completion, assessment results, learner feedback, and training effectiveness.
- Experience developing training in SAP-adjacent environments or systems that integrate with SAP.
