Job Description

A global electronics and semiconductor manufacturing company is seeking an Enterprise Print Architect to join their team. This individual will be responsible for defining and governing the global print strategy, architecture, standards, and roadmap for the organization. This role ensures that printing capabilities enable business operations while driving standardization, modernization, security, cost optimization, and operational excellence across all locations.
The Enterprise Print Architect serves as the strategic owner of enterprise printing services, developing a future-state vision that balances business requirements, user experience, security, compliance, and total cost of ownership. The role provides architectural leadership for both current-state multi-vendor printing environments and future-state standardized solutions.
Recognizing that enterprise print environments often contain a mix of manufacturers and technologies, the Enterprise Print Architect designs vendor-agnostic solutions that enable consistent user experiences and centralized management while supporting a phased transition toward standardized platforms. This is a fully remote, immediate need, and is a contract until April 2027.

Additional Responsibilities:

Enterprise Strategy & Roadmap
· Develop and maintain the enterprise print strategy aligned to business objectives and workplace technology initiatives.
· Establish a multi-year roadmap for print modernization, standardization, and cloud transformation.
· Define future-state architecture for enterprise printing services.
· Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, improve reliability, and lower operational costs.
· Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends impacting enterprise print services.
· Develop business cases and investment proposals for modernization initiatives.
Architecture & Standards
· Define and maintain global standards for:
o Printers and multifunction devices (MFDs)
o Print management platforms
o Print security controls
o Driver management
o Print deployment methods
o Cloud printing technologies
o Device lifecycle management
· Create architectural principles supporting:
o Scalability
o Security
o Standardization
o Business continuity
o Global consistency
· Establish approved hardware and software standards while accommodating regional business requirements.


Vendor-Agnostic Print Architecture
· Design and govern a print environment that supports multiple printer manufacturers.
· Develop solutions that provide consistent user experiences regardless of printer brand.
· Establish architecture standards that minimize dependencies on proprietary vendor technologies.
· Enable centralized management of mixed-vendor environments during transition periods.
· Create migration strategies from legacy print solutions to future standardized platforms.
· Define interoperability requirements for Ricoh, Zebra, and other supported technologies.


Print Modernization
· Lead initiatives to modernize print infrastructure.
· Drive adoption of cloud-based print services where appropriate.
· Evaluate and implement technologies such as:
o Microsoft Universal Print
o Secure release printing
o Pull printing
o Mobile printing
o Print analytics and reporting
o Cloud print management solutions
· Reduce reliance on legacy print servers and outdated infrastructure.
· Improve end-user experience through simplified print deployment and access.


Security & Compliance
· Define print security architecture and governance standards.
· Ensure compliance with:
o Corporate security policies
o Industry regulations
o Data protection requirements
o ITAR and other regulated environments where applicable
· Establish standards for:
o Secure print release
o Data encryption
o Authentication and authorization
o Device hardening
o Firmware management
o Vulnerability remediation


Vendor & Service Provider Management
· Serve as the technology authority for printer manufacturers and managed print service providers.
· Partner with procurement and sourcing teams to:
o Define technical requirements
o Evaluate vendor capabilities
o Support RFPs and RFQs
o Assess total cost of ownership
· Provide strategic oversight of vendor performance and roadmap alignment.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, end-user computing, or workplace technology
- Experience designing and managing large-scale enterprise print environments.
- Demonstrated experience with multi-vendor print ecosystems.
- Knowledge of print management and cloud printing technologies.
- Experience leading enterprise standardization and modernization initiatives.
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and governance principles.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with Microsoft Universal Print, Ricoh Managed Print Services, HP, Xerox, Canon, Zebra, and other enterprise printing platforms
- Knowledge of Azure and Microsoft 365 services and End User Computing (EUC) architecture
- Experience with ITAR, regulated, or highly secure environments
- Experience with Vendor management and strategic sourcing initiatives
