Systems Engineer - Cost Account Manager

An employer is seeking a Systems Engineer / Cost Account Manager (CAM) to support the planning, execution, and delivery of complex defense programs. In this role, you will serve as a key leader responsible for managing cost, schedule, and technical performance within an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) environment, ensuring program objectives are achieved while meeting customer commitments.
You will partner with program managers, engineering teams, finance, and functional leadership to develop and manage work packages, maintain integrated schedules, support forecasting activities, and analyze program performance. Responsibilities include ownership of earned value metrics, variance analysis, Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) development, risk and opportunity management, resource planning, and preparation of program reviews for internal and external stakeholders.
The position requires strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional teams, identify and mitigate program risks, and ensure alignment between technical execution and business objectives. Experience supporting DoD programs, EVMS compliance, Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), financial forecasting, and program performance reporting is highly desirable.
This role is ideal for a professional with a background in program leadership, cost account management, EVMS, and defense program execution who can effectively balance customer expectations, financial performance, and strategic program goals in a dynamic environment.
This person must also have an Active Secret Clearance.
