Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join one of our largest Navy prime contractors. As a trusted provider of naval power and control technology, they deliver high-quality, customer-focused products and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and allied forces. Their systems are built to meet rigorous specifications and are proven to perform in harsh marine environments.
Under the Test Engineering organization, you will support the production and validation of next-generation submarine systems, with a strong emphasis on shock, vibration, and environmental testing for mission-critical components. This role is ideal for an engineer experienced in dynamic environments who is passionate about ensuring reliability and durability in extreme conditions.

What You Will Do:
• Design, develop, and execute shock and vibration test programs to validate product performance, durability, and compliance with military standards (e.g., MIL-STD).
• Write and perform detailed test procedures and protocols for mechanical systems and assemblies.
• Analyze test data related to dynamic loads, resonance, fatigue, and structural integrity, and provide recommendations for design improvements.
• Set up and support test instrumentation, including accelerometers, data acquisition systems, and vibration tables.
• Debug and troubleshoot test setups, hardware, and related mechanical systems.
• Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams to ensure test readiness and design validation.
• Review customer and military specifications and translate them into effective test requirements and methodologies.
• Support supplier evaluation and validation of components exposed to shock and vibration environments.
• Contribute to prototype builds and testing to mitigate early-stage development risks.
• Provide regular updates on test progress, findings, and overall project status.
