Job Description

This individual will provide tier 3 support for POS systems across retail store locations, troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues impacting store operations. They will be responsible for maintaining and updating Windows-based POS environments, including testing, documenting, and deploying OS patches and system updates. On a daily basis, they will support and configure various hardware components such as POS terminals, pin pads, and mobile devices like handheld scanners and printers. The role also includes working in internal QA and development environments, assisting with testing, scripting, and ongoing system improvements. Additionally, they will collaborate with cross-functional teams and take ownership of projects and escalations, ensuring minimal downtime and a seamless experience for store employees.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of retail IT / POS support
• Strong communication skills, customer-facing mindset (stores are the “client”)
○ Ability to explain technical issues simply to store teams
• Solid Windows OS knowledge
○ Must be comfortable troubleshooting, patching, and supporting Windows-based POS systems in a production environment
• Advanced troubleshooting / Tier 3-level support capability
○ Ability to diagnose complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and make repair vs. replace decisions independently
• Ability to work hands-on with hardware + warehouse-style environment
○ Comfortable imaging devices, staging equipment, and physically handling inventory/equipment as needed
• Problem-solving mindset / ownership mentality
○ Ability to:

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• PowerShell / scripting experience
• Experience supporting POS devices, peripherals, or similar hardware (terminals, pin pads, mobile devices) in a real-world environment
• Experience with:
○ OS patching processes
○ Mobile Device Management (MDM)
○ Retail POS environments
• Spanish (not required, but helpful)
• Familiarity with:
○ Wireless networking
○ Retail hardware environments
