Insight Global is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician (Lead) with strong programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting expertise. This role will partner closely with sales teams, project teams, and clients to ensure accurate system design, seamless installation, and successful commissioning of fire alarm solutions.
This is a key, hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, project ownership, and leadership in the field. The ideal candidate is comfortable interfacing with both customers and internal teams, managing project execution, and mentoring junior technicians.

Required Skills & Experience
Required Skills & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2–5+ years of experience in the fire life safety or fire alarm technician field
- Ability to independently program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems
- Experience terminating fire alarm control panels and field devices with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting skills (opens, shorts, grounding issues)
- Ability to read and interpret fire alarm design drawings
- Working knowledge of:
*NFPA 72 (Fire Alarm Code)
*NFPA 70 (Article 760 – electrical systems)
*International Fire Code (IFC – Section 907)
*International Building Code (IBC – Section 909)
- Familiarity with permitting, inspections, and state/local fire requirements
- Experience coordinating with contractors and on-site teams
- Intermediate computer skills (software installation, system programming tools)
- Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and meet tight deadlines
- Physically able to perform field work (lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, climbing ladders, working at heights)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel occasionally (overnight as needed)

- NICET I certification (or higher)
- OSHA 10 certification (or ability to obtain)
- Additional state, local, or manufacturer-specific certifications
- Experience leading technicians or acting as a project lead
- Strong inventory management experience (tools, materials, vehicle stock)
- Enhanced customer-facing experience and training end-users
- Experience managing job schedules and coordinating multiple active projects
