Job Description

We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support enterprise-wide data retention and assessment initiatives. This individual will work cross-functionally with business units to evaluate data usage, identify gaps in retention practices, and translate findings into executive-level insights.
This role is highly collaborative and will require strong communication skills, as well as hands-on experience with Excel and Power BI to analyze and present data. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with ambiguous inputs, organizing data from multiple sources, and building clear, actionable reporting for business and leadership stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Partner with business units to identify systems, data types, and data ownership across the organization
• Conduct initial assessments through stakeholder conversations and structured questionnaires (Microsoft Forms)
• Collect, organize, and analyze data inputs using Excel (pivot tables, data cleanup, consolidation)
• Evaluate findings against data retention policies and regulatory requirements to identify gaps and risks
• Develop Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize assessment results, including executive summaries and detailed functional reports
• Create clear, actionable insights highlighting data retention gaps, risk exposure, and impact to controls
• Support efforts to automate reporting processes and improve efficiency in data analysis and visualization
• Present findings and recommendations to business stakeholders and leadership, including VP-level audiences
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, business, and compliance teams to ensure alignment on findings and next steps

Required Skills & Experience

• Must be open to hybrid 3 days a week onsite
• 3+ years of experience in a Data Governance or GRC Analyst
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, data organization, working with large datasets)
• 2+ years of experience with Power BI (dashboard creation, data visualization, connecting to data sources)
• Ability to create executive-level summaries and visual reports (charts, dashboards, KPIs)
• Strong communication skills — ability to interact with business stakeholders and present findings
• Experience gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources (e.g., forms, spreadsheets)
• Understanding of data lifecycle concepts or exposure to data governance / compliance principles

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with Power BI automation (data refreshes, reusable reporting frameworks, basic data modeling)
• Exposure to data governance, data retention policies, or compliance frameworks (SOC 2, CCPA, PCI, etc.)
• Experience working across multiple business units or large enterprise environments
• Prior experience translating data into risk assessments or compliance-related insights
• Familiarity with Microsoft Forms or similar data intake tools
