Job Description

- Supports cybersecurity initiatives across Boston Scientific’s software and medical device portfolio, with a focus on post-market (released product) support
- This role does not involve designing or developing software — it is focused on assessing, reviewing, and improving security
- Hands-on position working with embedded systems and Linux-based operating systems in a regulated environment
- Performs and supports risk assessments, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and secure SDLC practices
- May gain exposure to penetration testing (not required, but opportunity to learn)
- Partners cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory teams to identify and remediate security gaps
- Supports post-market cybersecurity activities and ensures compliance with medical device regulations and standards


Compensation: $40/hr to $50/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this role will have access to paid sick leave and other paid time off benefits as required under the applicable law of the worksite location.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field
- Interest or foundational experience in cybersecurity (open to different technical backgrounds)
- 2–5 years of experience working in a regulated environment (medical device preferred)
- Exposure to medical device, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries
- Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, software engineering, or a related technical role
• Experience in medical devices or other regulated industries (FDA, ISO, etc.)
• Exposure to embedded systems or embedded Linux environments
• Familiarity with IEC 62304 or similar medical device software standards
• Experience with connected devices or cloud-based systems
• Understanding of post-market cybersecurity or product security lifecycle
• Interest in growing into cybersecurity architecture or leadership roles
• Hands-on programming experience (C++, Python, or similar), preferably in embedded environments
• Experience with:
• Vulnerability management
• Risk assessment
