Job Description

Duties include:
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing simple as well as complex failures within various components of Fire and Safety Systems.
• Understands advanced database operations and administration for fire and security systems.
• Assist in reviewing, recommending, start up and validating new fire systems.
• Running conduit and pulling wire for reconfigurations of existing Fire Alarm systems
• Train new employees.
• Testing, shutdowns, maintenance, repair, installation or removal, programming, and service call response for the following systems:
• Fire Alarm Systems which may include detectors, building panels and associated wiring, antennas, host computers, local and remote display units, and printers.
• Gas Detection Systems which may include detectors, building panels and associated wiring, host computers, and local and remote display units.

Required Skills & Experience

What you’ll need:
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work well individually and with others in a team environment
• 10+ years of Journeyman level experience maintaining and servicing Fire Alarm Systems and associated devices
• OEM training and certifications in fire alarm and gas detection systems
• Good mechanical, electrical, building automation, and computer skills
• Ability to understand mechanical, electrical, and equipment drawings
• Prior experience with at least one of the following systems: Monaco, Edwards EST3, Fire-Lite, Siemens XLS, MXL, FS-250, Silent Knight, or Simplex
• Experience with conventional and addressable fire alarm systems
• Practical knowledge of single or three phase electricity
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows based maintenance software
• Familiarity with pre-action sprinkler and VESDA systems
• Valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Successful candidate will be subject to a drug screen and background check

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate should also have:
• AA degree in Electronics
• IOM/Programming certifications on Siemens, Simplex and Edwards fire alarm control panels
• NICET Level 1 or higher
