Job Description

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the interior appearance, and cleanliness of the Women's Shelter campus. This position performs routine grounds maintenance, minor physical tasks, comfortable with hand tools, and minor outdoor repairs. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors while demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and respect for the shelter's mission.

Required Skills & Experience

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 1 year of groundskeeping, lawn care, facilities maintenance, or related outdoor maintenance experience.
Interact respectfully with shelter residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check in accordance with county requirements.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Previous experience working for a county, municipality, park district, school district, shelter, or nonprofit organization.
Knowledge of irrigation systems and basic landscaping practices.
