Job Description

Overview
Our client is seeking a JIRA-focused Consultant / Scrum Master to support a newly formed team within their Architecture, Tools & Innovation (ATI) group. This team is in the early stages of building out processes and structure, with a strong focus on standardizing JIRA usage, improving visibility across teams, and enabling future automation through better data and reporting practices.
This role is highly tooling- and operations-focused, with an emphasis on driving consistency, adoption, and behavioral change across multiple squads.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Analyze and assess how teams are currently using JIRA, identifying inconsistencies and gaps across projects
• Standardize JIRA workflows, fields, and board structures to drive alignment across 2–6 teams
• Optimize JIRA configuration and reporting to support leadership visibility and future automation efforts
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders to define best practices for tracking, reporting, and data usage
• Guide teams on proper JIRA usage, including coaching on how to log, track, and manage work effectively
• Deliver training sessions (e.g., walkthroughs, lunch & learns, recorded sessions) to support adoption
• Collaborate directly with the hiring manager to align on priorities and rollout strategy
• Support change management initiatives by helping teams transition to standardized processes
Monitor adoption and continuously refine JIRA practices based on team feedback and evolving needs

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with JIRA (advanced user level), including:
○ Configuring workflows, fields, and boards
○ Building dashboards and reports for leadership
○ Supporting multiple JIRA projects/environments
• Proven experience working across multiple teams or projects, with exposure to varied JIRA implementations
• Ability to analyze current-state processes and implement standardization across teams
• Experience driving process adoption and behavioral change within Agile environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to:
○ Coach teams on tooling and process
○ Deliver training sessions and documentation
○ Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum Master or Agile Coach–type exposure preferred, but not purely facilitation-focused)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with enterprise-level JIRA transformations or consolidations
• Background in change management or organizational transformation initiatives
• Exposure to environments focused on automation, reporting standardization, or AI-driven insights
• Experience creating structured training materials (recorded sessions, documentation, playbooks)
• Comfortable presenting to larger groups or leading informal enablement sessions
