Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support the Mexico rollout of a next‑generation Point of Sale (POS) platform, powered by Cloud Powered Checkout (CPC) on the backend and Checkout Streamline (CoStl) on the frontend.
This role is critical to ensuring a seamless, reliable, and compliant checkout experience as we modernize legacy systems, enable Self‑Checkout (SCO), and onboard the Conflux item maintenance platform across the MX market. The QE will work closely with engineering, product, integration, and store operations teams to validate complex, distributed, and production‑critical systems.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Execution

Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies and test plans covering functional, integration, regression, and non‑functional testing
Perform risk‑based testing for high‑impact checkout, payments, promotions, and tax flows
Ensure feature and data parity validation between legacy systems and new CPC / CoStl / Conflux platforms

POS & Checkout Validation

Validate end‑to‑end checkout flows, including:

item scanning, pricing, promotions, taxes, and restrictions
tendering, payments, refunds, and voids
Self‑Checkout (SCO) exception handling and attendant workflows

Validate Mexico‑specific requirements such as:

MX tax (IVA) calculations and rounding rules
regulated item restrictions
utility payments and localized functionality

Integration & Event‑Driven Testing

Test integrations with:

OMS (OnDemand ecommerce fulfillment)
Promotions platforms (QuickSilver or Pangea)
Downstream systems (BCT, SAPCAR, Global Interfaces)

Validate event‑driven and asynchronous workflows, including message ordering, retries, idempotency, and failure handling

Conflux & Data Validation

Validate onboarding of Conflux services (Shuttle, Resolver, Disseminator, Store‑Bridge)
Test item maintenance and data dissemination pipelines
Perform ETL and data integrity validation supporting Flex POS and downstream consumers

Automation & Tooling

Design and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers
Build and execute automated regression suites within CI/CD pipelines
Reduce test flakiness and improve test reliability and coverage

Hardware & Store Environment Testing

Validate integration with store hardware (scanners, scales, printers, pin pads)
Test real‑world store scenarios such as:

intermittent connectivity
device failures
offline/online transitions

Production Readiness & Observability

Validate logging, monitoring, alerts, and dashboards
Support go‑live readiness through:

performance and load testing
failure and timeout scenarios
production validation and smoke testing

Participate in production issue triage, root cause analysis, and post‑incident reviews
