Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire a CNC Operator for one of our largest manufacturing clients located in Elgin, IL. This role is focused on running CNC machines to produce parts, checking quality, and keeping operations moving efficiently.
On a typical day, this person will:
• Operate CNC machines (primarily lathes) to produce parts based on pre-set programs
• Run first pieces and make minor adjustments (like offsets or tool changes) as needed
• Perform secondary operations like milling, cutting, deburring, and forming springs
• Read blueprints and follow specifications to ensure parts are built correctly
• Measure and inspect parts using tools like calipers and CMM to make sure they meet quality standards
• Handle basic machine upkeep (tool sharpening, minor maintenance)
• Track production and complete documentation on output and quality checks
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures at all times
• Work toward daily production goals and support team improvements

Required Skills & Experience
- 1+ years’ experience with CNC maintenance
- Experience using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges CMM measuring machine)
- Demonstrated experience of positive work ethic and quality performance
- Must have the ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience in machining plastics / polymers
- Experience operating turning lathes
- CNC programming skills
