Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Technical Product Manager for a large media and entertainment client. This is a remote, contract-to-hire opportunity, with candidates expected to work Pacific Standard Time hours.
This role owns the backend platform that powers consumer-facing mobile and connected TV applications, directly influencing how content is delivered and personalized across native experiences.
While this is a product role, it is highly technical in nature. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in backend engineering (APIs, microservices, distributed systems) and has either transitioned into product management or is looking to grow further in that direction. You will work closely with engineering teams to define API requirements, guide architectural decisions, and ensure the platform scales effectively to support high-performing client applications.
About 25% of your time will be spent embedded with engineering—reviewing system designs, clarifying technical requirements, and supporting delivery. The remaining focus will be on core product responsibilities, including roadmap ownership, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment. You will translate business needs into scalable backend solutions, ensuring platform capabilities align with both product goals and client performance expectations. Experience supporting consumer-facing products and native client applications is key and strong understanding how backend systems impact frontend user experience, particularly across mobile and connected TV (CTV) environments is beneficial.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience across Product Management and/or backend engineering, with ownership of roadmap, backlog, or technical delivery
Strong foundation in backend systems, including APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures. Any experience with backend technologies such as Golang, Python or Node.JS is advantageous
Ability to work closely with engineers on system design, API definition, and architectural tradeoffs
Experience translating business or product requirements into scalable backend solutions
Proven experience supporting consumer-facing applications
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across engineering, product, and leadership teams
Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes, serverless

Background in streaming, OTT, or media platforms
Experience supporting or working with mobile or connected TV (CTV) applications
Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and observability tools
Exposure to AI/ML-driven product features or platform capabilities
