Job Description

The Contract Accounts Payable (A/P) Functional Leader serves as a senior individual contributor responsible for supporting and stabilizing daily A/P operations. This role acts as the right hand to the A/P Supervisor, providing hands-on leadership, workload coordination, and first-level escalation support while actively participating in high-volume invoice processing. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in A/P operations, particularly in subcontract invoice entry, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Oversee daily A/P operations and ensure timely, accurate invoice processing in a high-volume environment.

Act as Level 1 escalation point for invoice discrepancies, vendor issues, and payment inquiries.

Partner with the A/P Supervisor to allocate workload, prioritize tasks, and ensure SLA adherence.

Provide day-to-day functional guidance to team members to maintain production continuity.

Perform high-volume invoice entry with emphasis on subcontract invoice processing.

Monitor workflow queues, identify bottlenecks, and adjust workload distribution accordingly.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Support process improvement and documentation efforts to enhance efficiency and consistency.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve issues promptly.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 4+ years of high-volume Accounts Payable experience.

Experience with subcontract invoice entry strongly preferred.

Experience with ERP systems such as Viewpoint or Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.

Strong ability to prioritize work and manage competing deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.

Strong understanding of A/P processes, controls, and compliance requirements.
