Job Description
We are seeking a Technology Services Lead – Messaging Services to drive middleware remediation, modernization, and platform security across enterprise messaging environments.
This role blends:
• Hands-on engineering (IBM MQ + Kafka)
• Architecture & platform design
• Leadership of large-scale upgrade and remediation programs

Key Responsibilities
• Lead migration, upgrade, and decommissioning of legacy messaging platforms (IBM MQ, brokers, legacy tools)
• Own and optimize IBM MQ infrastructure (queue managers, clustering, channels, security)
• Support and expand Kafka / Confluent adoption for event streaming and real-time pipelines
• Design scalable, resilient messaging architectures (point-to-point, pub/sub, event-driven)
• Drive platform security hardening (TLS, certificates, channel auth, vulnerability remediation)
• Partner with application teams on:
o Message flow design
o Performance tuning
o Capacity planning
• Support global onboarding and connectivity setup for messaging clients
• Lead operational excellence across a high-volume, mission-critical environment
• Participate in on-call rotation / production support (24x7)

Required Skills & Experience
• Deep expertise in IBM MQ administration & engineering
o Queue managers, clustering, channels, security
• Working knowledge of Kafka / Confluent ecosystem
o Topics, brokers, producers/consumers
• Hands-on experience with:
o Messaging configuration, routing, and tuning
o HA / DR configurations
o Queue/topic/channel design patterns
• Strong background in:
o Linux/Unix + Windows server environments
o Scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell)
o CI/CD (Jenkins, Ansible, Git)
• Strong understanding of:
o Messaging patterns (pub/sub, event streaming, P2P)
o Platform security, encryption, and certificates
• Proven ability to:
o Troubleshoot large-scale production issues (latency, backlog, connectivity)
o Support 24x7 production messaging systems
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• IBM MQ certifications (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with:
o Observability (Splunk, Dynatrace)
o Kafka tools (Schema Registry, Connect, Streams)
• Exposure to:
o Event-driven architecture
o Real-time streaming platforms
o Messaging modernization initiatives
• Experience in regulated environments (financial services)
