Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) to support and optimize the core database infrastructure that powers an Epic environment for a healthcare system. This individual will be responsible for the performance, stability, and availability of the Epic Operational Database (ODB) running on InterSystems IRIS within a Linux environment. They will manage the full database lifecycle across production and non-production environments, lead high availability and disaster recovery efforts, and play a key role in executing zero-downtime upgrades and system enhancements. This role acts as a critical liaison with Epic Technical Services and internal infrastructure teams to proactively address system performance, security, and scalability - ensuring a reliable experience for clinicians and operational staff across the health system.

Required Skills & Experience
-Epic ODBA (Operational Database Administrator) experience
-Hands on experience with Intersystems IRIS (or Cache) supporting Epic
-Strong Linux administration (RHEL or similar)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Experience with Epic System Pulse & Performance Analytics
-Strong background in ECP (Enterprise Cache Protocol)
-Experience leading zero-downtime upgrades (Transparent / Conventional)
-Prior involvement in Gold Standard DR validations with Epic TS
-Healthcare system experience (large hospital environments preferred)
-Exposure to security remediation + compliance (HIPAA, audit readiness)
