Job Description
A client in the is seeking a hands-on, short term contract, Business Continuity consultant to execute Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), facilitate stakeholder interviews, develop BC plans, and drive plans through approval and publication. This is an execution-focused role with emphasis on Business Continuity and alignment to IT Disaster Recovery.
Conduct BIA interviews with business and IT stakeholders.
Capture critical processes, dependencies, risks, RTOs, and RPOs using existing tools/templates.
Develop and maintain BC plans aligned to BIA results.
Coordinate with IT DR owners to ensure recovery strategies support business requirements.
Track plan completion, approvals, and publication status.
Escalate overdue plans, approvals, and unresolved gaps.
Maintain Jira dashboards and provide weekly status reporting.
Document recovery gaps and assign ownership for remediation.
Success Metrics
BC plans developed, approved, and published across 18 value streams.
Approximately 50 business processes assessed and documented.
80%+ of targeted processes complete with BIA, approved BC plan, and mapped DR plan.
Less than 2-week lag between BIA completion and draft BC plan.
All identified recovery gaps documented with assigned owners.

Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery experience.
Experience leading at least 3 end-to-end BIA cycles in a large enterprise environment.
Strong experience facilitating BIA workshops/interviews with business and IT stakeholders.
Proven track record driving BC/DR plans from draft through approval and publication.
Experience managing plan governance, compliance, and escalations.
Proficiency with Jira or similar work management tools.
Ability to reconcile business RTO/RPO requirements with actual IT recovery capabilities.
Strong stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills.
Self-sufficient, execution-oriented professional who drives deliverables to completion.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in transportation, logistics, field operations, or regulated industries.
AWS recovery and resiliency experience.
Experience integrating BC/DR programs with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).
Knowledge of SharePoint or similar document repositories.
Tabletop exercise facilitation and recovery testing experience.
Value stream mapping experience.
Certifications:
CBCP
MBCI, AMBCI, or CBCI
ISO 22301 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor
CISM or CRISC
