Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, plan, and lead the delivery of large-scale enterprise infrastructure solutions. This role requires deep expertise in system architecture, LAN/WAN environments, and virtualized infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on VMware technologies. You will serve as a technical leader, driving complex initiatives, mentoring engineering teams, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical systems.

Compensation: $66.28/hr. - $78.55/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Responsibilities:
• Successfully deliver large-scale infrastructure initiatives with minimal disruption and strong performance outcomes.
• Create a VMware environment that is highly reliable, optimized, and proactively maintained
• Ensure complex incidents are resolved efficiently with root cause elimination—not temporary fixes.
• Upskill Engineering team to demonstrate improved capability, consistency, and execution under your leadership.

Required Skills & Experience

Required Clearance/Certifications/Education:
• Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) with the ability to obtain Top Secret SCI + Polygraph

Must-Haves:
• 11 years of experience in network engineering, system architecture or related field.
- Associate’s degree counts towards 2 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree counts towards 4 years of experience
• Deep hands-on experience with VMware infrastructure (vCenter, ESXi, vSphere suite)
• Strong background in system architecture design and enterprise infrastructure
• Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN networking environments and distributed systems
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex, integrated IT environments
• Experience planning and delivering large-scale infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate in high-impact environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Active Top-Secret SCI + Polygraph
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments (Azure preferred)
• Familiarity with automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code practices
• Industry certifications (e.g., VMware VCP/VCAP, Cisco, Microsoft)
