Job Description
An employer is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join a high-impact engagement building next-generation AI and Knowledge Graph solutions for enterprise customers.
In this role, you will operate directly with client stakeholders, translating complex business problems into production-ready software solutions. You will lead the design and implementation of graph-based AI systems, data pipelines, and intelligent applications while serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle. The role specifically focuses on building and scaling enterprise Knowledge Graph platforms, GraphRAG solutions, and AI-powered retrieval systems.
This position is ideal for a senior engineer who combines strong software engineering skills with customer-facing consulting experience and can independently own projects from discovery through production deployment.
What You'll Do
Design, build, and deploy enterprise Knowledge Graph solutions using Neo4j and graph database technologies.
Develop scalable Python-based data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and maintaining large volumes of customer and operational data.
Create graph-native query logic and traversal patterns using Cypher to enable advanced relationship analysis and business insights.
Build GraphRAG and AI-powered retrieval systems that leverage knowledge graphs to generate meaningful business recommendations and insights.
Design and maintain data quality, entity resolution, deduplication, and governance frameworks to ensure graph accuracy and integrity.
Partner directly with client stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions, manage expectations, and drive adoption.
Lead technical discovery sessions and translate ambiguous business challenges into executable engineering workstreams.
Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and AI engineers to deliver production-ready solutions in cloud environments.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute reusable frameworks, patterns, and intellectual property for future engagements.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience building production systems.
Advanced Python development experience.
Hands-on experience with Neo4j, graph databases, or knowledge graph implementations.
Strong experience building data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration frameworks.
Experience designing and implementing APIs and distributed systems.
Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or GenAI applications.
Experience working directly with customers, stakeholders, or business users.
Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments and drive projects to completion.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
GraphRAG implementation experience.
Knowledge Graph or ontology design experience.
Entity resolution, MDM, Customer 360, or record linkage expertise.
Experience with semantic modeling or metadata management platforms.
AWS, SageMaker, Snowflake, or cloud data platform experience.
Consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering background.
Experience evaluating AI systems using benchmarking, precision/recall metrics, or LLM evaluation frameworks.
Exposure to agentic AI systems and orchestration frameworks.
