Job Description

We are seeking an Extreme Networks Engineer to support overnight maintenance activities by executing pre-approved network changes in a controlled environment. This role is highly execution-focused and requires strong attention to detail, adherence to process, and hands-on experience within networking environments. The engineer will work from Method of Procedure (MOP) documents created by senior engineering teams, ensuring all changes are applied accurately and validated before maintenance windows close.

Key Responsibilities:

MOP Execution
- Execute network configuration changes using detailed MOPs/runbooks
- Perform hands-on keyboard implementation across network devices
- Ensure all steps are followed exactly as documented

Validation & Testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and validate changes post-implementation
- Confirm network stability, performance, and expected behavior before closing maintenance windows

Operational Support
- Monitor network performance and respond to alerts during maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ports, links, and connectivity

Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and support teams to ensure successful deployments
- Communicate status updates and escalate issues as needed

Required Skills & Experience

- Hands-on configuration and troubleshooting experience of Extreme MLX, SLX 9240, and SLX 9920 platforms.
- L2/L3 networking, including OSPF/BGP.
- Experience following MOPs, runbooks, and change management procedures.
- ACL manipulation experience.
