Job Description
Our EPC client is seeking a QA/QC Technician to join their team and support quality and inspection activities within their Houston fabrication shop. This role focuses specifically on instrumentation and electrical equipment used in industrial and energy environments. The QA/QC technician will be responsible for supporting inspections, ensuring compliance with established procedures, and maintaining quality standards throughout the manufacturing, fabrication, and integration process. They will float from project to project doing QA/QC, reviewing drawings for what’s being build and be able to advise on the drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Perform QA/QC inspections on instrumentation and electrical equipment throughout fabrication and integration
Review and follow quality procedures, processes, and documentation
Support quality control activities related to:
Panels
DCS / SIS / SCP systems
Control systems
Power distribution centers (PDCs)
Switchgear
Shelters and control buildings
Complete and maintain inspection forms and documentation using Excel
Collaborate with fabrication, engineering, and operations teams to address quality issues
Support shipping, receiving, and inventory activities as needed
Ensure equipment meets internal quality standards and customer requirements prior to delivery

Required Skills & Experience
5-10 years of QA/QC experience in a production or manufacturing environment
Hands‑on QA/QC experience with instrumentation and controls and electrical equipment (Not piping, structural, or mechanical‑focused QA/QC)
Quality technician/ Instrument Technician / Quality Coordinator / Quality Inspector (could have been electrical helper or instrument tech in past who has reviewed drawings & advised)
Strong Excel skills, including use of forms and documentation tracking
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Shipping/receiving experience
Inventory Management
