Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an AI/ML Engineer for an innovative technology client focused on intelligent automation and next-generation robotics solutions. This individual will be responsible for developing advanced computer vision, anomaly detection, and robotic perception capabilities that enable autonomous decision-making in real-world environments. The ideal candidate will combine deep machine learning expertise with hands-on experience in vision systems, sensor data processing, and robotics integration to build scalable AI solutions that improve operational efficiency, reliability, and automation across complex systems.

Day-to-Day:
Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models focused on computer vision and intelligent automation
Build anomaly detection solutions for identifying defects, equipment failures, and operational abnormalities
Develop perception algorithms for robotic systems utilizing cameras, LiDAR, and sensor data
Train and optimize deep learning models for object detection, tracking, classification, and segmentation
Collaborate with robotics, software, and hardware engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into deployed systems
Validate model accuracy, robustness, and performance in real-world production environments
Improve existing AI pipelines through model optimization, experimentation, and performance tuning
Implement data collection, labeling, and model monitoring processes
Support deployment of models on edge devices and cloud-based infrastructure
Research emerging technologies in AI, robotics, computer vision, and intelligent automation

Required Skills & Experience

• PhD with 10+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 8–13 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments
Strong experience with Computer Vision including object detection, image classification, segmentation, tracking, and scene understanding
Expertise in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or OpenCV
Experience developing models for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, defect detection, or quality inspection systems
Experience working with robotics platforms, autonomous systems, industrial automation, or edge devices
Knowledge of sensor fusion techniques utilizing cameras, LiDAR, radar, IMUs, or other sensor modalities
Experience training, evaluating, and optimizing deep learning models for real-world performance
Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, neural networks, and computer vision architectures
Experience deploying AI solutions to edge, embedded, or cloud environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with ROS/ROS2 and robotic software development
Experience with generative AI, vision-language models (VLMs), or multimodal AI systems
Knowledge of MLOps tools including MLflow, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA, TensorRT, or GPU optimization
Background in industrial inspection, manufacturing automation, warehouse robotics, or autonomous vehicles
Experience with time-series anomaly detection and predictive analytics
Familiarity with reinforcement learning, motion planning, or robotic controls
Publications, patents, or open-source contributions in AI, robotics, or computer vision
