Job Description
The Regional SH&E Manager serves as the safety leader for Sunbelt Rentals' Scaffold, Temporary Fence, and Temporary Structures business throughout the Western U.S. This individual partners closely with Regional Managers, Branch Managers, Foremen, and Operations Leadership to drive safety performance, proactively identify risk, and strengthen safety culture across multiple jobsites.
The role is highly field-oriented and focuses on audits, inspections, coaching, compliance, risk management, incident prevention, and predictive safety metrics. The ideal candidate is an experienced construction safety professional who can operate independently, influence field teams, and serve as the regional safety expert.
Day-to-Day:
- Conduct jobsite audits and safety inspections
- Review OSHA compliance and critical safety controls
- Lead and participate in morning safety meetings
- Perform safety observations and risk assessments
- Investigate trends and identify leading indicators of future risk
- Coach Branch Managers, Construction Managers, Foremen, and field employees
Drive safety culture initiatives throughout the region
-Review operational safety metrics and reporting
-Partner with regional leadership to improve safety performance
-Train and develop field operations personnel
-Travel throughout the Western U.S. supporting multiple locations
- Serve as the primary safety resource for remote jobsites and branches

Required Skills & Experience
5-7+ years of dedicated Construction Safety experience
OSHA 1926 experience
Experience functioning as a full-time Safety Professional (not safety as a small component of another role)
Ability and willingness to travel 70-75%
Strong field presence with experience coaching operational teams
Experience conducting jobsite audits, inspections, safety observations, and compliance reviews
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
Experience working in construction environments and interacting directly with field personnel
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Scaffold safety experience
Temporary structure experience
Temporary fence experience
Transportation / fleet safety exposure
Safety-related degree
CSP, ASP, CIH, CHST, or similar safety certifications
Multi-site or regional safety leadership experience
Trench, civil, infrastructure, industrial, or specialty construction safety experience
