Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support a manufacturing client with critical initiative focused on restarting production of legacy and cold-start components. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate feasibility, identify manufacturing gaps, and enable the successful reintroduction of previously discontinued parts into production.
This role will be heavily focused on analyzing a backlog of cold start parts, assessing production readiness, and partnering with engineering, supply chain, and suppliers to remove roadblocks and establish a clear path to delivery. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate cold start parts to determine manufacturability, tooling requirements, and production readiness
- Identify and resolve technical or supply chain barriers preventing restart of production
- Collaborate with internal engineering, quality, and supplier teams to drive solutions and ensure alignment on delivery timelines
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production plans
- Support forecasting and planning efforts by providing clear status updates and risk assessments across part families
- Participate in or help establish a cross-functional “cold start council” to drive strategy and execution

Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in manufacturing engineering within automotive, aerospace, or a highly regulated industry
- Strong experience with manufacturing processes (machining, tooling, process development, and production readiness)
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve production or process-related issues
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience working with discontinued parts / cold start production environments
- Background supporting complex assemblies
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, production ramp-up, or supplier recovery initiatives
