Job Description

The Information Support Specialist I position is primarily responsible for day-to-day user support and customer service on company supported computer applications and platforms. This position will work as part of a team to troubleshoot and resolve problems and engage the appropriate resources to resolve the issue when necessary.
Responds to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically
Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
Research required information using available resources
Follow standard Support Desk procedures
Route issues to appropriate resource
Document all issue information according to standard operating procedure
Log all Support Desk interactions with internal and external customers
Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention or higher level of knowledge
Prolonged standing and periodically lifting, stretching and twisting
Prolonged sitting and terminal use
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs periodically
Hand dexterity and strength
Work outside normal hours may be required, including some weekends
Work performed primarily indoors and in production type facility

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum one year experience in a technical help desk setting
Proficient in computer operating systems and applications.
Knowledge of standard Microsoft desktop operating systems & MS Office applications
Ability to perform typical computer maintenance, repair, and user administration
High School Diploma or GED required

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

A degree in computer related field
A+ Hardware certification
ITIL standards certification
