Job Description
The Material Scientist (ET) will lead research and development efforts to deepen scientific understanding of sol-gel internal gelation chemistry for TRISO fuel production. This includes identifying knowledge gaps, conducting experimental research, and investigating organic chemistry factors affecting gel formation and stability, as well as optimizing aging, washing, and drying processes. The role involves collaborating across technical teams to translate research into process improvements and generating detailed technical documentation. Candidates must have extensive expertise in TRISO fuel fabrication and strong experience in process development and materials characterization at the research or pilot scale. A PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field is required, along with at least eight years of experience, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities. This is on-site 5 days a week. Salary ranges from 110K-170K depending on EDU and YoE
