Job Description

A client is seeking a Radar Systems Requirements Engineer to work in Aberdeen, MD. This role involves supporting the development of advanced radar capabilities. The engineer will have access to cutting-edge engineering and modeling tools, as well as expertise in radar, modeling and simulation (M&S), and software/hardware development for current and future Army radar and sensor systems.

As a systems engineer in the radar division, your experience in hardware development and testing will be crucial for calculating performance measures and influencing system architecture development. The ideal candidate will have a background in both hardware and software, with a passion for advancing signal/data processing techniques and developing new radar concepts in a laboratory setting.

A key aspect of this role is direct customer interaction to balance technical risks between systems, define and assess interfaces, and evaluate design trade-offs. This individual will play a significant role in developing next-generation radar capabilities, integrating models for various radar systems, and collaborating across programs to achieve comprehensive solutions. The role also involves providing analytic, statistical, radio-frequency signal, and visual analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities include:
· Provide engineering support to radar science and technology efforts
· Support the development of new radar signal and data processing techniques and radar concepts
· Establish traceability to customer requirements and specifications through decomposition of requirements.
· Work with technical team leads and customers to define internal and external interfaces of the system and develop Interface Control Documents (ICD).
· Lead the development of system architectures and the integration of software and hardware subsystems · Lead and assist in conduct of meetings to negotiate solutions across subsystems and disciplines (software, hardware, modeling, and analysis)
· Develop requirements in collaboration with customer, subject-matter experts and project managers.
· Manage and lead systems engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)



$55hr to $77hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

· Minimum DoD Secret Clearance

· Bachelor's Degree in STEM or Equivalent

· 3+ years of experience working as an Engineer specifically with the Decomposition of Requirements, including developing, designing, allocating, and managing user and system-level requirements; calculating measures of performance and measures of effectiveness; leading the development of a system architecture; evaluating design tradeoffs; balancing technical risks between systems; defining and assessing interfaces; and providing oversight of verification and validation activities, etc.

· Experience with ground or air-based radar systems (Ground vehicles huge plus)

· Experience establishing traceability to customer requirements specifically with MBSE tools like DOORS, JAMA, SysML, Creo and/or MagicDraw

· Experience collaborating with customer to determine requirements and specifications for hardware development/engineering

· Experience with any of the following requirement planning tools:

Interface Control Documents (ICD), Requirements Verification Plans (RVP), Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM), Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM), System Requirements Review (SRR), etc.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Experience developing systems architectures/frameworks

· Experience prototyping/implementing signal and data processing or conducting systems analysis with MATLAB, Python, and C++

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

· Goal-oriented with excellent people skills, ability to work in a team environment, strong work ethic and proactive in all manners related to the job.
