Provide guidance on design, development, and optimization of laser diode devices, including epitaxial structure, device architecture, and fabrication processes
Work across physics fundamentals, epitaxy, device design, fabrication processes, and advanced characterization.
Design and implement advanced test equipment to characterize laser diodes in a R&D environment.
Contribute to technology development, internally and through external partners, including, epitaxy of compound semiconductors, optoelectronic device architecture and design, and semiconductor process development.
Provide guidance on technology evaluations, including internal and external investigations, and selecting technical pathways to support evolving program needs.
Provide guidance on external partner engagements to deliver robust processes & devices that meet development roadmap targets.

Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Applied Physics, or related field.
10 yr+ hands-on experience in research and development of diode lasers.
10 yr+ experience in laser diode design and fabrication.
Experience with edge emitting laser diodes and VCSELs
Experience in semiconductor technologies, covering various material systems (e.g., GaN, InGaN, AlInGaP).
Experience working at a major laser diode manufacturing company
Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment.
Experience in modeling device physics and materials science of laser diodes
Experience with semiconductor epitaxy (e.g., metal-organic chemical vapor deposition, molecular beam epitaxy), semiconductor processing, process/device characterization, test and assembly, reliability and failure analysis.
Familiar with high-speed optoelectronics.
