Job Description

As a Data Analyst within the Data Governance group, focusing on the Global Seeds Operations Business function, you will be responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and visualizing seed-related data to support data governance initiatives and drive operational efficiency. Based in Johnston, Iowa, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and report on key data metrics, trends, and insights that inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

* Data Analysis and Interpretation: Utilize statistical analysis techniques, data mining, and visualization tools to analyze large datasets related to seed production, supply chain operations, quality assurance, and manufacturing processes, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies.

* Data Quality Assessment: Perform data quality assessments and audits to evaluate the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of seed-related data, identifying data governance issues, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.

* Dashboard Development: Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel, to communicate data governance metrics, KPIs, and insights to stakeholders effectively.

* Root Cause Analysis: Investigate data anomalies, discrepancies, and data quality issues, conducting root cause analysis and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline data governance processes, enhance data collection, validation, and integration procedures, and automate data quality checks and reporting tasks to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

* Data Governance Support: Support data governance initiatives, including metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data privacy compliance, by providing analytical expertise, data profiling, and documentation support as needed.

* Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders across the Global Seeds Operations Business function, including operations, supply chain, quality assurance, IT, and data governance teams, to understand data requirements, align analysis efforts with business objectives, and communicate insights effectively.

* Continuous Learning and Development: Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in data analytics, data governance, and the agriculture industry, participate in training programs, workshops, and conferences, and share knowledge and insights with colleagues to foster a culture of learning and innovation.

Required Skills & Experience

o 2+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles.

o Proficiency SQL, Excel, Power BI

o Experience in statistical analysis, data visualization, and dashboard development

o Analytical problem-solver, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for business stakeholders.

o Excellent communicator/collaborator, able to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Experience in agriculture or manufacturing sector / Familiarity with seed industry terminology, global supply chain operations, and manufacturing processes.

* Knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management, and master data management (MDM) concepts.
