Insight Global is seeking a BI Engineer to join a large AAA gaming company remotely in Canada for a 12-month contract. In this role, you will:
- Oversee analytical pipeline processes using SQL to integrate data from multiple sources into a unified platform.
- Integrate data storage using cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery) to manage large data volumes securely.
- Improve BI processes to reduce time-to-insight and identify automation opportunities for cost savings and quick decision-making.
- Ensure seamless integration of BI products with existing infrastructure for efficient data flow.
- Implement data security protocols, including access control, backup, recovery, and governance practices.
- Establish practices to enhance data quality and maintain data integrity.
- Lead the optimization of BI solutions for efficient data processing and retrieval.
- Ensure detailed documentation of BI solutions such as design, development, and maintenance.
- Manage PowerBI Infrastructure and capability planning

- 6+ years of experience as a BI Engineer with an expertise focus in PowerBI and the entire Azure stack ecosystem including an architectural understanding of the data
- Strong understanding and working experience with ETL/ELTing
- Strong hands-on SQL querying ability for building pipelines
- Basic understanding of cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery)
- Experience working with large volume data sets and structures
- Hands on CI/CD process experience including understanding of how PowerBI relates to Gitlab and ability to do the basics such as uploading code and code reviews
