$46 - $57 (hourly estimate)

Job Description

Split time approximately 50/50 between Oracle and SQL Server database administration
Maintain and support legacy Oracle systems with a focus on stability and reliability
Support and enhance SQL Server environments, which are central to the company’s strategic roadmap
Monitor and manage database performance, backups, clustering, and failover configurations
Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to support a diverse environment including on-prem, hosted, and homegrown systems
Participate in planning for future cloud migration and SaaS adoption
Help reduce single points of failure by bringing redundancy and expertise across both platforms

Required Skills & Experience

3–6+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
Proven experience managing both Oracle and SQL Server environments
Strong understanding of database maintenance, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Experience with SQL Server clustering
Ability to work in hybrid environments (on-prem, hosted, off-the-shelf, and custom-built systems)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Exposure to Azure Arc or interest in learning it
Experience with cloud migration planning or SaaS transitions
Familiarity with environments undergoing modernization or platform transitions
Understanding of strategic data architecture and innovation in SQL Server environments
