Job Description

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable being pulled in multiple directions. This person should be able to stay organized across licensing deadlines, reporting due dates, internal requests, and regulatory requirements. They should be a strong team player who is willing to jump in, volunteer to help, and provide excellent customer service to internal business partners.
This role would be a strong fit for someone with hands-on mortgage licensing experience who understands NMLS, branch and LO licensing, renewals, DBAs, business licenses, and state reporting requirements. The team is especially interested in someone who can bring reporting experience or stronger technical/data skills, while still being comfortable with day-to-day licensing operations.
• Manage company, branch, and LO licensing (applications, renewals, maintenance) through NMLS and state/local agencies
• Support business, city, and state licensing, including DBAs, shared spaces, and branch changes
• Coordinate onboarding/offboarding of licensed employees in NMLS
• Track continuing education requirements for LOs
• Maintain accurate data across NMLS, LOS, and internal systems
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including Mortgage Call Reports and state-specific reporting
• Analyze licensing and mortgage data, flag discrepancies, and escalate issues
• Manage licensing deadlines, renewals, filings, and tracking spreadsheets
• Work out of a ticketing system/shared inbox to support internal requests
• Partner with internal teams (LOs, branch managers, compliance, etc.) to resolve licensing inquiries
• Stay up to date on regulatory changes and communicate updates
Support compliance projects, process improvements, and reporting initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of mortgage compliance or licensing experience
• Strong experience with NMLS, licensing, and renewals
• Knowledge of mortgage regulations and licensing processes
• Experience supporting compliance or licensing reporting
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Power BI
• LOS experience
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Mortgage Call Report or state reporting experience
• Experience analyzing mortgage or licensing data
• Experience with DBAs, business/city licenses, shared spaces
• Experience working in a ticketing system/shared inbox
• Project coordination or process improvement experience
Familiarity with SAFE Act and mortgage compliance regulations
