Job Description
A leading pharmaceutical organization is seeking a Sr. Associate Scientist to support antibody and recombinant protein generation efforts within its Protein Sciences team. This individual will be responsible for hands-on laboratory activities spanning DNA design, molecular cloning, protein expression, purification, and characterization. The ideal candidate will have strong laboratory experience in recombinant protein production and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced research environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design DNA sequences and support vector construction activities.
- Perform molecular biology techniques including cloning, sequencing verification, plasmid preparation, and quality control.
- Produce recombinant proteins, including antibodies, biospecifics, fusion proteins, and other protein modalities using mammalian expression systems.
- Purify proteins using affinity chromatography and other purification techniques.
- Conduct analytical characterization of purified proteins to assess quality, concentration, and functionality.
- Fulfill laboratory reagent and protein production requests while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional scientists to support ongoing research programs.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory, and compliance with established safety protocols.
- Analyze experimental results and communicate findings to project teams.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or related field with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, or equivalent degree.
- Hands-on laboratory experience (excluding collegework)
- Experience with recombinant protein production from DNA design to quality analysis
- Prior experience working with electronic lab notebooks and/or LIMS systems
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with python scripting and/or strong excel macro skills
- Experience with annotating antibody sequences and familiarity with antibody structure/domains
- Experience with product quality analysis for antibodies and recombinant proteins
- Antibody-drug conjugate and small compound handling experience
