Job Description
This Buyer/Planner role is primarily focused on production planning (60%) with purchasing responsibilities making up the remaining 40%. On a day-to-day basis, this individual will create and manage production schedules for the machine shop, monitor inventory levels and material availability, and work closely with production leaders, Value Stream Managers, and shop floor personnel to ensure production runs smoothly and customer orders are delivered on time. They will use ERP/MRP systems and Excel to analyze demand, inventory, and capacity, while proactively identifying and resolving potential material shortages or production disruptions. On the purchasing side, they will be responsible for procuring raw materials and finished goods, communicating with suppliers regarding deliveries and quality concerns, expediting critical parts when necessary, and partnering with the Sourcing Specialist to resolve supplier-relat.ed issues that impact production. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working directly on the production floor, skilled at building relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders, and thrives in a fast-paced environment that requires real-time problem solving and "firefighting" to keep operations on track

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
Minimum 3 years or Production Planning and buying experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong planning and scheduling experience
Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data analysis)
Comfortable working with manufacturing personnel on the production floor
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working in a more manual planning environment
ERP/MRP system experience (does not need to be their exact system; experience with similar planning systems is sufficient)
Experience working cross-functionally with operations, production, and sourcing teams
Comfortable "firefighting" and resolving day-to-day supply chain disruptions
