Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician II to perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems. This role supports the operation of RTUs, package units, split systems, refrigeration equipment, chilled water systems, boilers, and other mechanical and electrical building systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, a thorough understanding of HVAC system operations, and the ability to safely execute preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Lead and support the installation, maintenance, and repair of large-scale industrial air conditioning systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and adjust thermostats, burners, transformers, relays, controls, switches, heaters, and related electrical components.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical HVAC system issues.
• Utilize HVAC trade tools, including multimeters, refrigerant gauges, charging charts, and hand tools.
• Identify maintenance risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Clean, adjust, repair, and perform warranty-related service work on HVAC systems.
• Respond to emergency repair requests promptly and efficiently.
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training when needed.
• Adhere to all applicable safety standards, work instructions, and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, including equipment conditions, parts used, and work performed.
• Assist with customer inquiries and service-related questions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation
The anticipated pay range for this position is:
• HVAC Technician II (5+ years of experience): $30.00 – $45.00 per hour
Compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Compensation ranges are included in accordance with pay transparency requirements

Location: Charlotte, NC
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (hours may vary based on jobsite requirements; standard 8-hour workday plus on-call rotation)

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience performing preventative maintenance and repairs on RTUs, package units, split systems, and refrigeration equipment.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, HVAC system operations, and sequences of operation.
•EPA Universal 608 Certification
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid, unexpired driver's license.
• Clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with chillers and boilers.
• Refrigeration/HVAC trade school, vocational certification, or equivalent training.
