Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Release Train Engineer (RTE) for a leading financial services organization. This individual will play a critical role in enabling a large Agile Release Train of approximately 18 teams to deliver technology products in a predictable, high-quality, and efficient manner. The RTE will lead PI Planning, drive alignment across business and technology stakeholders, and ensure transparency through metrics-driven execution. This role requires strong facilitation, risk management, and Agile coaching capabilities to optimize flow, remove impediments, and continuously improve delivery performance in a highly regulated environment.
Day-to-Day:
• Facilitate all ART ceremonies (PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, PO Sync, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt)
• Coordinate cross-team dependencies and proactively manage risks
• Maintain Program Kanban and ensure epics/features meet Definition of Ready (DoR)
• Track and report PI health metrics (objectives completion, cycle time, quality, risks)
• Partner with business and technology leaders to ensure alignment and execution
• Prepare and manage PI cadence, including calendars and logistics
• Ensure epics and deliverables are properly documented in Jira/Jira Align
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and retrospectives at the train level
• Provide visibility into delivery performance and escalate issues as needed
• Coach teams and leaders on Agile best practices and SAFe principles
• Support resource planning and synchronization between teams and stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) supporting large-scale Agile Release Trains (~15+ teams)
• Strong expertise in SAFe / Agile frameworks with deep understanding of PI Planning and execution
• Experience facilitating PI Planning events end-to-end (vision, breakouts, risk ROAMing, confidence vote)
• Advanced proficiency with Jira / Jira Align / program boards / dashboards
• Demonstrated ability to track and report train-level metrics (PI objectives, velocity, cycle time, defects, business value)
• Strong dependency and risk management experience (including ROAM methodology)
• Experience coordinating across Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, and leadership
• Ability to remove impediments and protect teams from disruptions
• Experience driving continuous improvement and Agile maturity across teams
• Comfortable operating in governed environments (compliance, controls, release processes)
• Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills
• Minimum 1 year of AI experience, preferably with Microsoft Copilot
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting distributed or global teams across multiple time zones
• Background in Technology Infrastructure or enterprise platforms
• Experience designing hybrid PI Planning events with digital collaboration tools
• Strong Agile coaching background across multiple roles (SM, PO, PM, Architects)
• Familiarity with financial services or highly regulated environments
• Experience building metrics-driven operating rhythms and executive reporting
