Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Operations Conductor to support Navy training operations. This role is focused on Undersea Warfare (USW) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) operations, specifically supporting Air Control functions aligned to ASTAC (Airborne ASW Tactical Controller)—not traditional Air Intercept Control.
The ideal candidate will have prior Navy experience coordinating air and maritime assets in ASW environments, with a strong focus on range safety, asset coordination, and mission execution.
Responsibilities:
-Communicate and control the activity of all participants during training exercises across SCTTR
-Coordinate ASW air operations, ensuring safe and effective integration of aircraft, surface, and subsurface assets
-Support range safety and mission execution, ensuring all participants operate within established parameters
-Coordinate range support helicopters for recovery operations, including:
-Boats
-Torpedoes
-Other deployed assets
-Control launch and recovery of mobile USW targets during training events
-Operate surveillance systems, including radar and tracking technologies, to monitor exercise activity
-Utilize tactical communication systems (VHF, UHF, HF) to maintain command and control of all participants
-Maintain tactical logs, scorecards, and performance tracking for post-exercise analysis
-Support mission execution using scripted injects and transmissions
-Collaborate directly with customers to understand training and analysis requirements
-Assist with mission planning, briefings, and debriefings
-Compile and deliver post-exercise analysis and reporting
-Support operations from the Exercise Control Facility (NAS North Island)
Pay Range is based on qualifications from 30/hr to 43.27/hr

Required Skills & Experience
One of the following:
-Bachelor’s degree + 2+ years of experience
Master’s degree (no experience required)
OR High School Diploma + 6+ years of relevant experience
-Prior Navy experience supporting Undersea Warfare (USW) / Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) operations
-Experience with air coordination within ASW environments (ASTAC or similar role)
Background in:
-Operational coordination and exercise execution
-Observation, data collection, and analysis of training events
-Use of sonar, radar, acoustics, or in-water tracking systems
Familiarity with tactical communications systems (VHF/UHF/HF)
-Ability to operate in both land-based and maritime environments, including lifting up to 45 lbs
-Willingness to travel approximately 30%
-Active Secret Security Clearance (required)
