Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Ontology Specialist to support one of their investment banking clients’ AI and Knowledge Management initiatives. This individual will help build, maintain, and enhance enterprise knowledge graphs that power AI-driven search, intelligence, and insights across the firm's investment banking platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of knowledge graphs, ontology development, data relationships, and M&A transaction data. They will work closely with bankers, data teams, and AI stakeholders to structure complex deal information into meaningful relationships that can be leveraged by AI systems to answer business questions and generate insights. This role will play a critical role in helping investment bankers access institutional knowledge and transaction intelligence across industries, geographies, and deal types. This is a hybrid opportunity requiring 3 days a week onsite in New York City.
Key Responsibilities
•Build and maintain ontologies, taxonomies, and knowledge graphs supporting investment banking use cases
•Model relationships across companies, sponsors, transactions, industries, geographies, advisors, and deal participants
•Structure and curate M&A transaction data for AI, search, and knowledge graph applications
•Partner with bankers and business stakeholders to translate information needs into scalable data models
•Enable AI-powered search and retrieval by connecting and classifying enterprise data
•Support business requests and deal intelligence queries, such as transactions by country, industry, sponsor, or advisor relationships
•Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across knowledge graph platforms
•Collaborate with AI, data engineering, and business teams to improve knowledge discovery and insights
•Maintain metadata standards, taxonomies, and governance frameworks
•Support ongoing enhancements to the firm's AI and knowledge management initiatives

Required Skills & Experience
•2+ years of experience working with ontologies, knowledge management, or related disciplines within an AI product environment
•Experience working with Azure
•Understanding of knowledge graphs and entity relationship modeling
•Experience working with structured and unstructured data
•Experience supporting business users and translating requirements into data structures
•Ability to work directly with executive stakeholders and business users
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
•Understanding of M&A transactions and deal lifecycle processes
•Investment banking, private equity, capital markets, or financial services experience
•Experience organizing and modeling transaction datasets
•Familiarity with graph technologies such as Neo4j, RDF, SPARQL, OWL, GraphQL, or similar platforms
•Experience supporting enterprise AI initiatives and LLM-based applications
•Knowledge of financial datasets, market intelligence platforms, or deal databases
•Experience building taxonomies and metadata standards for large-scale knowledge repositories
