Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Procurement Specialist for a leading precision manufacturing and engineering client in Fairfield, OH. The Procurement Specialist leads procurement activities for assigned projects, ensuring materials and services are sourced on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical, quality, and customer requirements. This role manages supplier relationships, purchase orders, quotations, and procurement schedules while partnering with internal teams to support successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan and execute procurement activities to support projects and production schedules.
• Review project requirements, BOMs, drawings, and specifications to identify procurement needs.
• Obtain supplier quotes, evaluate proposals, and issue purchase orders.
• Coordinate supplier selection and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms.
• Monitor supplier performance, deliveries, and open orders; expedite materials as needed.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Production, Quality, Accounting, and suppliers.
• Identify procurement risks, long-lead items, and potential schedule impacts.
• Follow up with suppliers on quotes, acknowledgements, deliveries, certifications, and documentation.
• Resolve supplier delivery, quality, pricing, and documentation issues.
• Maintain procurement records, schedules, and ERP/MRP systems.
• Support supplier qualification, evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with estimating activities through supplier pricing and cost analysis.
• Participate in supplier, customer, and project meetings as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Haves
• 3+ years of procurement or purchasing experience.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and procurement software.
• Experience obtaining quotes, evaluating supplier proposals, and managing procurement activities.
• Ability to review engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Experience working within a manufacturing, ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 environment preferred.

Key Skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong organization, planning, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, and value.
• Experience reading purchase orders, contracts, BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procurement best practices.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify procurement risks and manage competing priorities.
