Job Description
• Con Edison is seeking an Interconnections Planning Engineer to support the evaluation and integration of renewable energy and transmission projects across the bulk electric system. This individual will perform interconnection studies for offshore wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), public policy transmission projects, and other clean energy technologies.
• Responsibilities include conducting power flow and short circuit studies, assessing system impacts of new generation and transmission projects, identifying required reliability upgrades, and developing technical recommendations for NYISO. The engineer will work closely with internal planning teams, external developers, and NYISO stakeholders to support New York's evolving energy infrastructure and clean energy goals.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in the planning, design, or operation of bulk electric transmission systems
• Knowledge of electric power system design and operation
• Experience with PSS®E, TARA, ASPEN, or equivalent power system modeling software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Valid driver's license
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering
• Experience supporting transmission interconnection studies
• Exposure to offshore wind, battery storage, or renewable energy projects
• Familiarity with NYISO processes and stakeholder coordination
Experience identifying transmission system upgrades and reliability improvements
