Job Description
We are seeking a motivated commercial HVAC Apprentice with 1–4 years of experience to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of HVAC and building systems. This role provides hands-on experience working alongside skilled technicians while performing preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and emergency response activities in a commercial environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, safety-focused, and committed to delivering quality service.
Key Responsibilities
• Complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs involving HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, conveyor, and other building systems and equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC equipment and related systems.
• Ensure repairs and maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.
• Support inspections and preventative maintenance programs to help maintain equipment performance and reliability.
• Respond to spills and emergency situations and perform janitorial and maintenance tasks as necessary.
• Assist in client, site, or customer emergencies as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, equipment conditions, and materials utilized.
• Follow all company, customer, and site-specific safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with senior technicians to develop HVAC troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Compensation
The anticipated pay range for this position is:
• HVAC Technician III (1-4 years of experience): $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
Compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Compensation ranges are included in accordance with pay transparency requirements
Location: Richmond, VA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (hours may vary based on jobsite requirements; standard 8-hour workday plus on-call rotation)

Required Skills & Experience
• 1–4 years of experience in HVAC, facilities maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or a related field.
• EPA 608 Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Valid, unexpired driver's license.
• Clean driving record
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to learn HVAC systems, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following established safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience assisting with commercial HVAC maintenance or repair.
• Trade school coursework or vocational training related to HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems.
