Job Description
One of Insight Global's customers is looking to onboard a Lead Platform Engineer to drive the strategy, architecture, and modernization of their endpoint and digital workplace environment. This individual will focus heavily on Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Intune, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 technologies while developing standards and best practices for device management across Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms. They will be responsible for creating scalable endpoint solutions that improve security, stability, and end-user experience while working toward a true zero-touch provisioning model through technologies such as Windows Autopilot. This person will partner closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, and support teams to ensure devices remain secure, compliant, properly configured, and aligned with the organization's long-term platform strategy. This role will also serve as a technical leader responsible for driving automation, platform improvements, and overall endpoint engineering maturity. This is a remote and 6 month contract to hire opportunity.

Required Skills & Experience
6+ years of progressive experience in Endpoint Engineering, Platform Engineering, or End User Computing
Extensive experience supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and virtual desktop platforms
Strong experience with Windows 365
Deep understanding of Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, device provisioning, policy management, and application deployment
Experience supporting Windows, macOS, and mobile device management environments
Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft collaboration technologies, including Teams, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365
Experience managing device lifecycle initiatives including provisioning, patching, compliance, refreshes, and retirement
Experience developing engineering standards, governance, and scalable platform solutions
Experience building endpoint management strategies focused on security, automation, and user experience
Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience
Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with other VDI platforms (Citrix, VMware Horizon, etc.)
Experience deploying Windows Autopilot from the ground up
Strong Intune experience managing macOS environments
Experience with Conditional Access, Endpoint Security, and Microsoft Defender
Microsoft Endpoint Management or Azure certifications
