Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for our large client in the manufacturing automation industry. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying electrical schematics and system layouts, while supporting component selection and overall system performance for complex automation projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in delivering high-quality designs that align with industry standards and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design electrical schematics for both standard and custom machines, ensuring alignment with project requirements and quality standards
- Ensure all designs meet applicable industry standards, and communicate any deviations to key stakeholders
- Perform design-related analyses such as heat load calculations and SCCR evaluations
- Plan, organize, and manage project deliverables, including schematics and bills of materials (BOMs), to meet deadlines
- Create and maintain parts, jobs, and BOMs within ERP systems (Kinetics), and support job setup in CAD-related software
- Collaborate with internal design teams and provide support to manufacturing/assembly personnel as needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including value engineering, automation of repetitive tasks, and component research
- Stay current with industry trends and support cross-functional R&D efforts
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, both on-site and in the field
- Uphold a safe working environment in compliance with company and industry safety standards

Salary Range: $80,000-105,000 depending on experience
*Salary is flexible based on the right candidate

Required Skills & Experience

- 3+ years of electrical engineering experience within designing automated machinery
- Knowledge of UL, NEC and NFPA 79
- Intermediate proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electric
- Detailed knowledge of electrical components and their functions

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Engineering degree along with electrical engineering experience within designing automated machinery
- Familiarity with components such as Allen-Bradley, ABB Robots, Servos, and DND Systems
