Job Description

Position Overview:
Veritiv is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Material Operator to support warehouse operations at its Union City facility. This role is responsible for loading, unloading, moving, storing, and tracking materials while ensuring inventory accuracy and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse experience, be comfortable operating powered industrial equipment, and be willing to work at elevated heights when required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near work site.
• Inspects materials for quality/defects.
• Able to identify material by part number or written description.
• Manually moves materials onto or from pallets and shelves.
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
• Cleans work area, machines, and equipment.
• Assembles crates to contain products when required.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
• Adheres to all safety rules and regulations.
• Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.

Required Skills & Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• 2–5 years of material handling or warehouse experience
• Forklift certification (sit-down forklift required)
• Experience operating powered industrial warehouse equipment
• Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and at elevated heights
