Job Summary
The Network Architect leads the architecture, integration, and implementation of network infrastructure and services, including greenfield market deployments. This role translates business and product needs into scalable technical solutions, standards, and deployment plans across core, transport, access, security, and data center environments.
Duties / Responsibilities
• Lead the documentation, review, and continuous improvement of the network architecture, including infrastructure, platforms, vendors, technologies, and service dependencies.
• Develop and maintain an end-to-end understanding of the network environment across core, transport, access, security, and data center domains.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of new market greenfield deployments, including data centers, fiber rings, core network devices, and supporting infrastructure.
• Define technical standards, implementation requirements, deployment readiness criteria, and service provisioning guidelines for network solutions and new market builds.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Construction, Security, Product, and vendors on solution design, installation, turn-up, testing, validation, and integration into the production environment.
• Evaluate emerging networking, automation, resiliency, and security technologies, and provide recommendations for adoption and integration.
• Translate business and product requirements into technical requirements, architecture designs, deployment plans, and vendor solution guidance.
• Lead or support proof of concept activities, technical testing, and solution validation for new technologies and services.
• Produce and maintain architecture and engineering documentation, including standards, procedures, high-level and low-level designs, deployment plans, and technical knowledge artifacts in Confluence and PowerPoint.
• Identify technical risks, design gaps, dependencies, and operational impacts, and provide recommendations to support scalable, supportable, and standards-aligned solutions.
PR: $70/hr.

Required Skills & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Network, Telecommunications, or related Engineering field.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale network architecture, including routing, switching, MPLS, BGP/MP-BGP, L2VPN, L3VPN, IGPs, Segment Routing, and high-availability design.
• Experience designing and implementing network infrastructure for production environments, including greenfield market builds, data centers, and fiber transport or ring deployments.
• Working knowledge of network security, DDoS mitigation, segmentation, resiliency, and scalable service design.
• Experience with automation and programmability using Python, Ansible, NSO, APIs, or similar platforms.
• Ability to translate business, product, and operational requirements into technical designs, standards, implementation plans, and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with IPAM, DCIM, Confluence, PowerPoint, and cross-functional work with Engineering, Operations, vendors, and project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in service provider, large enterprise, or multi-market network environments.
• Experience with proof of concept testing, vendor evaluations, and deployment readiness validation.
• Familiarity with architecture governance, design standards, and lifecycle management of network services.
• Relevant technical certifications in networking, architecture, automation, or security.
