Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Application Engineering Consultant (Duck Creek) for a top Property & Casualty insurance client. This candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting Duck Creek policy administration solutions that drive underwriting, policy processing, and operational workflows. The ideal candidate will bring deep Duck Creek expertise, including Manuscripts, integrations, APIs, and enterprise architecture, while partnering closely with business and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. This individual will serve as a senior technical leader, supporting production operations, platform modernization efforts, new product implementations, and enterprise integrations. The role will also focus on leveraging emerging AI capabilities to improve underwriting efficiency, automate processes, and drive innovation across the insurance platform.
Day-to-Day:
· Design, develop, test, and deploy Duck Creek application enhancements supporting underwriting and policy administration
· Configure and customize Duck Creek Manuscripts, business rules, rating logic, and policy workflows
· Develop and maintain integrations between Duck Creek and enterprise systems
· Design and implement Duck Creek APIs and services supporting production and new product initiatives
· Collaborate with Product, Business Analysts, QA, and IT teams to deliver scalable technical solutions
· Troubleshoot complex production and integration issues through root cause analysis
· Support production releases, application monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization
· Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across teams
· Evaluate carrier customizations versus base product alignment decisions
· Support platform modernization and new product implementation efforts
· Production support experience including incident triage, root cause analysis, and performance optimization
· Identify process improvement and automation opportunities
Leverage AI capabilities to enhance underwriting workflows, operational efficiency, and decision-making

Required Skills & Experience
· 10+ years of software/application development experience
· 5+ years of hands-on Duck Creek development and configuration experience
o Strong experience with Duck Creek Manuscripts customization and configuration
o Experience with rating, policy administration, policy processing, and forms functionality
o Strong experience with Duck Creek integrations and enterprise application integrations
· Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and service-oriented architecture
Exposure to AI-driven solutions, automation platforms, or analytics tools
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Experience with Duck Creek platform upgrades (8.0.4, Policy Active Delivery/PAD)
· Event-driven architecture or messaging framework experience
· Experience implementing new insurance products and integrations
· Experience modernizing legacy insurance platforms
· Mentorship or team leadership experience
Experience with agency-facing or customer-facing application integrations
