How do I apply for IGH?

How long is my commitment to IGH?

Your commitment is a 3 year contract, our hope is that you convert permanently with the health system you were placed with after your contract. Our long term goal is to help hospital systems build a stable workforce.

Qualifications, Licensure and Immigration

What qualifications do I need to have to apply to IGH?

You must have 1 year of bedside experience and currently be working in a bedside role. In addition, you must have a BSN and passed your NCLEX exam.

What is the NCLEX Exam?

NCLEX stands for National Council Licensure Examination. It is the standardized test nurses need to pass in order to become a registered nurse in the US. Learn More

Where Can I Take the NCLEX Exam?

There are testing centers globally that administer the test.

What is VisaScreen certification?

VisaScreen certification is a process to ensure you have the necessary qualifications to work in America. During the visa screening, your skills will be compared to the minimal skills required in education, licensing, and the English language. Once you have passed the VisaScreen, you will be given a certificate that we will submit to the American embassy or consular office as part of yourvisa application.

Do I Need To Complete An English Exam?

Nurses who have graduated from a university in Australia, Barbados, Canada (except Quebec), Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, the United Kingdom, & the United States, don’t have to meet the English language requirement. All other countries require an english exam to be completed. In the United States different state licensing boards accept different english exams. Our credentialing team is here to help you determine which test is best for you to take.

What English Exams are accepted in the US?

OET, PTE, MET, IETLS, TOEFL – each state licensing board accepts different exams. Please work with our team on the best exam to take prior to deployment.

Nursing and Living in the US

What is the cost of living in America?

The cost of living in the U.S. varies greatly across each city and state. However, your pay rate will be aligned with the cost of living in the region of your assignment to ensure you and your family are set up for success.

Does IGH provide benefits?

How will I find housing Accommodations?

When we start approaching your arrival date IGH’s dedicated concierge team will connect with you to understand what your housing needs are and will assist with finding the right housing for you.

Can I bring my family?

Your spouse and any unmarried children under the age of 21 are considered your dependents. Each family dynamic is different, and our immigration team to here to help answer any specific questions regarding step children, adopted children etc.

Can I choose where I live and my hospital assignment?

While we do take your requests into consideration, your assignment will be based primarily on your experience as a Nurse to ensure we place you with a health system that aligns with your clinical experience.

Retrogression

What is retrogression?

Visa retrogression is the term used when a specific visa is in higher demand, than the supply available. This means when a visa is in retrogression, the priority date will be delayed. It is important to follow the monthly visa bulletins to keep track of when your priority date will become current.
