2023 was a big year for us in the environmental sustainability space. Previously, this area was not a high priority for us as a company. We were just getting started on the journey to reduce our footprint, and, as a services company, we lacked a clear vision of our impact. As we matured in our understanding and practices in this area, we recognized the opportunity and the responsibility to make sustainability a priority. We made significant investments this year that we are eager to share and continue to expand.
So what are we striving for? Best-in-Class. We’re striving to build a program that is genuine about what we’re doing, balancing the necessary reporting elements of ESG with having big, bold goals and doing the little things right to do our part to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. We aspire for sustainability to be like our Shared Values – embedded in everything we do and something that our people, from executives to our newest hires, are proud to rally behind.

TRACKING & REPORTING
2023 EMISSIONS & REASSESSING OUR 2019 BASELINE
We began rudimentary tracking and reporting on our emissions in 2019. Last year, we prioritized understanding the climate impacts of all areas of our business. To that end, we conducted an exhaustive inventory of all areas of our operations and were able to utilize this to fully account for our 2022 carbon emissions, recalculate a complete 2019 baseline, and disclose both publicly in 2023. Through this, we were able to affirm our largest emissions areas which are: Purchased Goods (Scope 3.1), Business Travel (Scope 3.6), and Capital Goods (Scope 3.2).
In alignment with our Shared Value, Always Know Where You Stand, it’s noteworthy that our emissions increased from 2019 to 2022. This came along with a rise in the headcount intensity of our emissions from 3.3 to 3.4, despite the expanded implementation of work-from-home capabilities.
* Scopes 1 & 2 primarily consist of how we power and heat our 70+ leased office spaces based on following the GHG Protocol. Scope 3 comprises our largest area of emissions, most of which is upstream suppliers, internal business travel and the construction/infrastructure build from our field offices.

Our office spaces are 100% leased, so we have limited control over our environmental impact in those spaces. We refuse to use this as an excuse. Read more about how we’ve navigated this in our 70+ office spaces.
Sustainable partnerships
Evergreen & One Tree Planted
Evergreen, Insight Global’s talent and technology solutions division, had a vision to plant a tree for each consultant placed on an Evergreen project during the brand’s first calendar year. They have consistently made quarterly contributions to support tree-planting initiatives in areas where we’ve had significant Evergreen projects. Our last tree planted in 2023 was in Punjab, India.

longleaf restoration
This project provides outreach and technical support for landowners in 37 South Georgia Counties to help around 300 private forest landowners better manage high-priority longleaf sites – an area populated by the Longleaf species of pine trees. Objectives include addressing issues critical to forest health and habitat loss.

50 million tree program
The 50 Million Tree Program (50MTP) annually plants and monitors millions of trees in Ontario across over 500 sites, collaborating with 57 planting partners. Aligned with the United Nations Billion Tree Campaign, the 50MTP contributes to the global goal of planting seven billion trees worldwide.
